Edmonton, Alberta 10th Anniversary

Dear Bro. Foluso, Ministers, Brothers and Sisters of our Edmonton Church:

​

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord.  This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.  This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.  Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.  Blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord. Psalms 118:23-26  

 

It is indeed marvelous in our eyes what the Lord has accomplished since this branch church had its humble beginnings in October of 2014.

Bro. Foluso, I remember you desired to meet with me upon one of our visits to Calgary, humbly expressing your heart’s desire and purpose of seeing an Apostolic Faith Church established in Edmonton, Alberta. After some prayer and consultation with other leaders, you received our blessing to commence the work of the gospel in Edmonton.

​

We felt God had placed the mantle upon you to lead this group, which at the time was very small.  That did not deter you, but you put your hand to the plow and worked hard to accomplish what God was leading you to do. Throughout these past more than 10 years it has been a blessing to see the growth and fruit of your labor of love.

​

This 10th Anniversary indicates not just the years of existence, but also the everlasting presence of God’s love and guidance. Ministers, brothers and sisters, your roles have been vital in shaping this branch that will honor God and inspire others.

​

Our church here in Edmonton shines as a beacon of light to the lost and who are seeking hope and salvation. We are reminded of our calling, that is, to be the Light of the World. God has called us to be this Lighthouse, shining bright for all to see and guiding all souls to the Savior.

​

This 10th Anniversary reminds us that every member has played a part in building this church that we are enjoying today. Holding a celebration of 10 years has only happened because of the consecrated people of God and its ministers who have been so dedicated and committed to the work of this glorious gospel that we all love so much. The hard work, endurance, faith and especially the love of God has helped you all to maintain a high standard for the gospel of Jesus Christ. We realize that Love has been the stronghold and foundation. The love of God, so rich and pure, so measureless and strong has helped to reach this milestone today!

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another." (John 13:34)

​

The mortar that binds us is the love of Christ. As we continue to love one another, we are fulfilling the greatest commandment and reflecting the heart of our Savior.

Upon our visits to Edmonton over the last 10 or so years, it was always inspiring to see perseverance and dedication to the Word of the Lord and the Apostolic Faith teachings.  What a blessing to see how the Lord has given the sufficient grace and strength needed along the church's journey! Each time we came we saw growth and souls being added to the Kingdom. We give thanks unto the Lord always for the establishment of His work in the city of Edmonton.

“The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children‘s children. To such as keep His covenant, and to those that remember to do them.” Psalm 104: 17,18.

​

 On behalf of myself, my wife Patti, the Board of Directors, and the Headquarters church at Roddickton, we extend our congratulations, love and prayers to all the saints at our Edmonton Apostolic Faith Church.  May you continue to follow hard after God each day, remembering always that we are called of God and are set apart for the Master’s use. He will certainly guide and direct us as we remain faithful in studying His Word, allowing it to transform us and equip us for every good work.
